2024 Social Media Trends Round Up
Social Media and Marketing in general are forever changing and updating and with the introduction of AI there is always something new to talk about. I follow a whole host of different sources and influencers that give me the most up-to-date social information keeping me on trend so I can keep you on trend.
Today (15 Nov 2023) social media expert Matt Navarra and Emplifi’s Imre de Daranyi delivered Social Media Trends 2024 Webinar, I watched so I can find out what's coming and here are the takeaways you should know about:
- Instagram is going to continue to be the most invested-in platform by social media managers and brands
There is a lot going on on Instagram and if you run a small business there is a lot you can do to show your expertise there - Increase in live shopping. It had a slower start than predicated but is picking up pace and expected to grow more next year
This is particularly being pushed on Tik-Tok and YouTube less so by Facebook and Instagram - Creator-led brands and influencer marketing to increase in popularity
People trust influencers more which is leading to consumers purchasing more on influencer recommendations than traditional marketing campaigns - Facebook has said that link posts get the least engagement and live videos give the greatest amount of engagement
I would have thought static posts would be the lowest but it's link posts so try to combine links with a single image or video for better engagement - Rise of subscriptions
There are so many options for people to subscribe for hidden or additional content which increases creator funds. Equally, platforms are bringing on more subscription options, particularly around ad-free options - AI (shocking, I know)
The explosion of AI tools continues and how people are using this to automate, create and develop social content will become more defined and productive
60% of workers have adapted AI into their toolkit (Stat from the Influencer Marketing Hub)
Enhanced ChatBots are coming, meaning they can take on brand voices and become more personalised
The diversity of customisation AI programs is going to continue
So that is the biggest takeaway from the webinar, but there are more gems of information on there too so if you want a deep dive into social media trends for 2014, you can watch the webinar HERE
I've followed Matt Navarra for a long time and he is particularly helpful in keeping social media people up to date. Particularly his weekly newsletter 'The Geekout Newsletter' gives a huge hit of knowledge each week delivered on a Friday afternoon (I read it on a Monday morning to get me in the game) and you can sign up for it here - https://geekout.mattnavarra.com/
